Half an old building is better than new

London is demolishing a rather unique 15 story building. One of 15 that was built by hanging floors off of a beam on top of a strong concrete central shaft, they naturally are destroying it from the bottom up.

I think the building looks fantastic as it is now, exposed beams and all. Assuming it's structurally sound, more buildings should be built like this... if only for variety. It's somewhat reminiscent of Hartford's own "Stilts Building", but way cooler.

It will be replaced by some shiny skyscraper.

This reminds me of another demolition which wasn't as well planned.
