Another cool power strip

I'm always interested in a new or cool way to plug all my gadgets in. In fact, my very first blog post was about one. This design makes it easy to unplug, with just a press of a lever.

The only problem i see is it wouldn't work at all with power bricks, which I have a lot of.

Transparent Adamantium?

Asus just came out with a new LCD monitor, the LS201. It's a pretty good 20" screen, reasonable specs, and even won the IF Design Award in China. Aesthetics and technical features aside, it has another quality that really sets it apart... it's indestructible.

Marker proof. Fist proof. Scratch proof. Hammer proof. Crossbow proof.

I can't wait till all consumer products can take a punch this well.

Movies I'm excited about...

For those of you who don't know me, I'm a big movie buff, and while I don't see nearly as many as I used to, here are a few that I'm excited about seeing.

I Am Legend (nice concept, crummy ending)
The Golden Compass (already out)
Sweeney Todd (12-21-07)
Cloverfield (1-18-08)
Jumper (2-14-2008)
Iron Man (5-2-08)
Speed Racer (5-9-08)
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (5-22-08)
The Dark Knight (7-18-08)

I'm sure there's more, but this should provide some pretty good trailer enjoyment. I just love those Hi-def versions :)

UPDATE: How could I forget Indiana Jones!

Weebles Wobble, but they don't Check Mate

I'm a big fan of chess. I'm no pro, but I can hold my own. As much as I think gimicky boards are cool, I don't like to play with them. Give me a classic looking board any day.

This board, however, is a fantastic mix of new design, with classic shapes. The pieces generally look like what they're supposed to, the wood is very classy, and given the weighted bases, I bet the pieces have a satisfying heft to them.

I Spy Eye-Fi

Here's a holiday gift idea for the shutterbug in your family - the $99 EyeFi. Basically it's a 2GB SD memory card, with built in Wi-Fi. It can automatically upload the photos on your camera to your favorite photo sharing website, or even your computer, whenever it's in range of wireless internet.

With this it's easy to have your photos show up on a slidshow, as you're taking them. Works great at weddings.

While it may be a bit slow for serious photographers, for the casual user it's a super convenient (and completely wireless) way to share your pics on Flikr or Facebook before you even get home.

We're Back, Baby!

Few shows return from the grave, but thanks to tremendous DVD sales and a fanatic following, Futurama is back!

After being canceled in 2003, the first of 4 feature-length DVD movies was released this week. "Bender's Big Score" reunites a surprising number of the cast (recurring and guest) in a complex story of time travel, spam, decapitations, gross aliens, and inside-jokes.

I would recommend seeing the series first before diving into this epic, but for those of you who know the show, BUY IT NOW (the Hypno-toad commands you).
